Image Accounting PRO from Comtech Solutions Worldwide, Inc. is a scalable accounting software package aimed at growing businesses. To run Image PRO, you will need a Pentium III processor (recommended), 128MB of RAM, (256MB recommended) and Windows 98+. You will also need Access 97, 2000 or 2002 in order to modify source codes and reports. The following modules are included: GL, AP, AR, Inventory Control, Payroll, Order Entry, Purchase Order, Banking, Job Costing and a convenient Contact Manager.
Image PRO has a main menu listing each system module in a vertical grid. By selecting the desired module, a more detailed menu appears for that particular module. For less used tasks, a drop-down menu bar is available at the top of the main menu screen. Options on the menu bar include File (where you can open and add a new SQL or Access database), Favorites (where you can open and add 'favorite' tasks and system functions) and Setup (where system preferences and master files are maintained).
Image PRO employs several shortcuts designed to reduce data entry and system setup time, including a GL Setup Wizard that effortlessly guides you through tasks such as chart of accounts setup, assignment of default accounts, adding or editing accounts, and account structure. Clicking on a module brings up a secondary menu with additional options relevant to that module.
When you want to create a new bill, a list of vendors appears on screen. After choosing the appropriate vendor or adding a new one, an entry screen appears. On this screen, you can choose your entry type, expense and items. A series of icons at the bottom of the screen gives you the option to post, enter a new invoice, print or bring up historic information. Several other options are available, as well. Payables history can be viewed down to invoice level if necessary.
The Contact Manager module is a handy feature, and one not always found in accounting software products. Contacts are divided into different categories: Customer, Prospects, Vendors, Sales Reps and Companies, and Employees and Jobs.
System Reports are available for review and printing from each module. The Inventory module supports multiple warehouses, special pricing and batch posting. The Inventory item entry screen is quite extensive, with a general product entry screen as well as product setup (which lists manufacturing information if applicable), a detail screen (where you can enter web options), pricing methods, and even a royalty rate. Purchase Order, Banking and Order Entry modules work in conjunction with the Inventory module to insure a smooth information flow.
Other features that make Image PRO more attractive to potential customers include web features such as a web setup wizard for quick web page setup, an interactive online order feature that provides customers with real time order status, and a product search screen for user ease. An import wizard allows easy importing of Peachtree, QuickBooks or MYOB data.
A complete Payroll module is also included with Image Accounting PRO, making this a complete accounting solution for small to mid-sized businesses that desire a system that will grow with them.
